GOD SAVE THE KING!
Better late than never! Here's some pics from Runcorn Rich of our Royal Bash a couple of weeks back.
It was a celebration of "Britishness" with a monologue, a Crown of Trifle, Michael Fagin-the royal intruder and some British style wrestling!

Czech coolness.....part two
Three more random 60's clips from the Czech Republic.
First up is the Eastern Bloc answer to Lulu, Valerie Cizmarova .....singing "Leta Leti". This is a rendition of the song "Moustache a Papa" that my band THE STAGS recorded a version of on the DO THE TON album.
I'm now confused because our take on it was based on French YE-Ye girl ANNA-BELL's version (from 1971) I thought it was the original.....however this footage looks older than that I'd guess at '68-'69.
Another interesting fact (to me, anyway) is it was written by Giorgio Moroder.....PAPA OO MOW MOW!!!!
Next up is handsome singer/daredevil Vaclav Neckar. the song is "Hej pane zajici" ...Very entertaining eye candy.....keep an eye out for the reckless, tormenting lion tamer!
Finally, THE GOLDEN KIDS from 1969 live in concert...check out the lucky guy in black's dance moves and the bass player in the band has got some style too!
Czech Coolness..... part one
60's Czechoslovakia is my new Utopia!!
Here's some groovy ads for the city runaround MZ ETS 250cc.
This was the first road bike I owned. It was actually registered on the log book as a 125cc and I rode it on L-plates and even took my test on it.....folks used to say "that's pretty quick for a 125!".....that's because it was a 250...

JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS 1967
Another HANNA-BARBERA cartoon that had an impact on me.....Even as an 8 year old I knew this was almost identical in format to SCOOBY DOO but with groovy, better looking chicks! There was obviously some tie-in with ARCHIE COMICS too

The Stags Halloween Show 2010.....
Just confirmed a Stags Halloween Party for 2010. I'm excited....we haven't done this for the last 5 years due to not having a suitable venue that would allow us to take the place over and build all our dumb stuff!
I know it's a little early but put this date in your diaries: Friday 29th October at The British Legion, Wigan.
Should be a monumental night with games, dancers, DJ's and a few special guests on the bill too.
Here are a few shots from past Halloween parties 2003-2006

The Stags....first show of 2010
Just confirmed!
I can't say too much about this just yet but The Stags are to play a show in Wigan! The date is Friday March 26th.
The event is the SIDEBURN MAGAZINE #5 LAUNCH PARTY!
The Stags are in alliance with a new regular night, ROARING PSYCHEDELIC OCTOPUS, hosted at the British Legion Hall and is hopefully the first of a series of Stags shows in Wigan for 2010.
It's gonna be a 'Cross-Cultural Extravaganza' with some other really cool stuff going on.....I will post full details of the proceedings as they are confirmed.....
