BAIL-BOND: Ricky Adam photography
A few initial shots from the BAIL-BOND and SSS 'secret' show this past weekend. I feel privileged to have Ricky Adam come over and shoot for us. We have known Ricky since the very late 80's when Jailcell Recipes (previous incarnation of Bail-Bond) travelled to Ireland to play gigs organised by The Belfast Music Collective. It's a nice feeling to be surrounded by people who have a shared history with the band.
Ricky is an outstanding photographer, completely in tune with the subject matter. He's made a name for himself shooting BMX and has an art book DESTROYING EVERYTHING that has just about sold out it's first edition. If you fancy a copy.....happy hunting....he's also thinking about printing a second run.

John Lee #3 and Mark Lavery #11 Chorley BMX track.
A group set up solely to showcase the BMX photography of Stefan Faulkner.
A school friend of BMX'er David Arnold and a keen photographer....Stefan put himself in the right place at the right time.
He had a great eye for a good shot, capturing events at a time when no-one else had the foresight to document what we were doing....we were totally in the moment and too busy 'doing it'... we never thought for one second how great it would be to be able to look back at these photographs thirty years down the line.
These shots are all took approximately between 1980-1982, in and around the NW of England. Mainly Chorley BMX track, Southport BMX track, Southport Skatepark and some downhill shots from Rainford St. Helens.
For me, they are a brilliant snapshot of carefree, happy times.....when the only things that mattered were when the next race was, hoping you didn't get a puncture and wondering if the holes in your Vans style #95's would hold out until you could afford a new pair!
Stefan has said that he has a bunch more images stashed in his vault, hopefully over time, this group will act as a platform for him to show them to the world.
We salute you Stefan!
I feature pretty heavily in Stefans pictures and I'm very proud to be involved with this project.
This archive has only been in existance for a couple of days and already there is dicsussions about the possiblities of a photo exhibition hosted both here in the North West and a venue in the South.

Vintage Jim Goodrich photography
A few examples of the skate photography of Jim Goodrich. In the late Seventies I would see these kind of images in SKATEBOARDER MAGAZINE and they would make me wanna grab my board and get shredding.
From the top we have Steve Alba (at Winchester pool??) then Shogo Kubo in the Lakewood half-pipe. Next is Marty Grimes at Oxnard and to conclude, Greg Weaver, at Skatopia.

New Glen E. Friedman skate shots
New skate photography from Glen over at his blog what the fuck have you done? Pictures shot on Kodachrome just last week at Pier 62 Skatepark, NYC.
Above shot is Steve "Bulky" Olson, double axle grind on an over vert bowl corner.
Also a cool shot..... of Glen taking the shot!
For those who aren't familiar with Glen, he took the best skate shots in the late 70's, as a 12 year old, regularly submitting his work to SKATEBOARDER magazine. He also documented the early L.A. Hardcore punk scene and also somehow put himself on the frontline of the embryonic Hip Hop scenes in both L.A. and NYC.
His blog is always worth a gander..........
